Job Description

As a part of our continued growth we are looking for dedicated and passionate Mechanics in our Rebuild department with our Heavy Truck Division. As a Mechanic you will be responsible for diagosing, and repairing or rebuilding the following:, transmissions, and differentials, gear boxes. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. The Mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining excellent customer service to internal and external customers always. Essential Job Duties:

  • Perform all levels of repairs on trasmissions and differentials
  • Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety.
  • Dyno test all transmissions built
  • inspect cores and make sure the core is tagged with the right information
  • Maintain a clean, safe working condition and practices within the department. Attends and participates in all relevant training programs established by the company and OSHA guidelines. Immediately reports any safety issues to management.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be able to lift 75 LBS
  • Minimum of 2 years of diesel differential, and transmission rebuilding experience with Heavy Duty Trucks preferred.
  • Must have experiece with Eaton, Spicer, Fuller, Meitor, and Mack.
  • Experience with Hydraulic press.
  • Must be forklift certified or obtain it within 6 months of hire date.  We will certify here
  • General understanding of how to use basic tools and torches.
  • knowledge of EPA rules, OSHA regulations and Standard safety with hazardous chemicals and adhere to all required standards.
  • Some tech school;HD transmissions, differentials knowldege preferred. NOT REQUIRED

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to routine hazards and the work environment of the truck repair industry. While in the shop area will work on concrete floors, sometimes wet environment, moderate noise is typical, with occasional exposure to loud noises, moderate exposure to air borne particles and fumes, and moderate exposure to hot, cold (non-weather). Very little time is spent outdoors and exposure to weather. Most  work is conducted in an shop environment with moderate and typical noise levels, moderate exposure to air borne particles and fumes.
