Job Description

  • Perform month-end accounting and financial statement consolidation functions in Oracle and COGNOS Controller consolidation software for actuals, budget and forecast.
  • Upload or review upload of financial information from foreign subsidiaries.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for management reporting including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and equity roll forward.
  • Maintain and generate key financial statement reports in COGNOS Controller.
  • Ensure conversion tables in COGNOS controller are updated accurately for the consolidation of multiple ledgers into the consolidated chart of accounts.
  • Prepare, document, input and review journal entries in Oracle as part of the monthly consolidation process.
  • Ensure foreign exchange rate data files are properly maintained and updated within Oracle and COGNOS.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow statements and supporting schedules.
  • Review domestic and foreign subsidiary cash flow movement schedules and follow-up with questions.
  • Support the administration of chart of account and company hierarchy changes within both COGNOS Controller and Oracle to support finance, tax and legal reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that inter-company accounts are properly balanced and eliminated in consolidation, including inter-company investments/loans, inter-company interest and other inter-company items.
  • Maintain accounting records for select financial statement areas.
  • Prepare required governments reports and submit within the required deadlines.
  • Support the corporate accounting function during the month-end close process as necessary, including inter-company investments, debt, foreign currency transactions, and internal control procedures.
  • Support the external reporting process through preparation of other various financial schedules and footnote support.

    Job Requirements

    • BS/BA degree in Accounting is required.   
    • Must have a working knowledge of GAAP, strong written and verbal skills, and at least an intermediate level in Microsoft Excel.
    • Must have the ability to work under pressure of deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years direct relevant experience in corporate accounting or financial reporting environment.
    • Experience with financial systems, including Oracle, COGNOS or similar software packages.
    • CPA or working toward completion of CPA exam
