Job Description

  • Perform tasks related to inspection and testing of software to ensure quality standards are met. 
  • Often develops new or may refine existing processes related to quality control and project failure identification and design standards verification. 
  • Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines.
  • Tests program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.
  • Collaborate with Development and Business Analyst in the design process to maximize testability of systems.
  • Review user requirements documents to ensure that requirements are testable.
  • Enforce compliance for all test artifacts produced by the QA team.
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures.
  • Prioritizes, plans, and schedules resources as needed for various tasks.
  • Escalate issues and participate in mitigating risks.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in effort to create a Regression Library both Automated and Manual.
  • Maintain good communications with business partners and team members.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Monitor all situations and ensure timely and effective communication of results.
  • Ensures all changes are documented to ensure efficiency.
  • Follows established LKQ procedures and guidelines, especially those pertaining to release management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an information technology, or related discipline, which could include Computer Science, Information Systems (IS) or Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 4 years in a professional IT-related and/or business-related role.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience with software quality assurance and testing of applications with significant size, scope and complexity (i.e. Sales, Servicing, Finance, Billing Applications, etc.) is required.
  • Solid technical aptitude and proven analytical skills required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand technical requirements, concepts and procedures.
  • Demonstrated application of industry-standards, methodology, and terminology relating to software quality assurance.
  • Experience using software packages or tools for processing and/or extracting data such as SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability at advanced troubleshooting and problem solving issues and able to pay close attention to details.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) within team environment and external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.SQL query skills.
  • Ability to test in Agile Methodology.
  • Knowledge of TFS.API or SOAP UI experience, VBScript programming experience or some Automation experience.
  • Ensure QA standards are met.
  • Responsible for rolling software programs out to production.
