Job Description

  • The ServiceNow Developer II will be responsible for documentation, development, support, testing, and training for any existing or future implementations, enhancements, and bug fixes supporting the ServiceNow platform that the ITSM Development group is accountable for.
  • Additionally, the Developer II will collaborate with business users to gather requirements to help better build ServiceNow applications.
  • Collaborates with business users and stakeholders to gather and document requirements for system enhancements
  • Collaborates with team members to configure, develop, test, and deploy enhancements and bug fixes on the ServiceNow platform
  • Builds system integrations through various methods (Web services, LDAP, SQL, etc.)
  • Designs and builds service requests and record producers using workflows, client scripts, UI policies, SLAs, etc.
  • Configures and reviews core ServiceNow applications according to business requirements and ITIL best practices
  • Leads unit and functional testing on system enhancements and bug fixes to verify requirements are met
  • Investigates and troubleshoots more complex application issues, performs root cause analysis and works with team to recommend and implement resolution
  • Independently handles end user requests and incidents, follows up to determine resolution and communicates efficiently
  • Prepares and/or reviews deployment packages for release updates using update sets and other version control systems
  • Participates in design, code review, and training sessions attended by all team members
  • Builds and maintains public (end-user facing) and technical documentation for implemented ServiceNow applications
  • Participates and leads in Agile/Scrum team activities and environment
  • Adheres to ServiceNow and general software development best practices to achieve consistently high-quality solutions
  • Designs and builds custom ServiceNow applications based on business requirements using industry best practices
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • College degree in related field or equivalent IT experience, including:
    • 4+ years in IT development, support or process integration
    • 4+ years ServiceNow development
    • 4+ years JavaScript development
    • 4+ years HTML/CSS development


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to communicate efficiently with end users
  • Commitment to learning and keeping up to date with quickly moving technical platforms and frameworks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
