Job Description


Job Summary: Provide Leadership and supervision to a team of quality assurance analysts and automation engineering team to develop a high performing software QA team. This position is responsible establishing and implementing quality assurance practices and procedures to mature the QA management processes. Work closely with various software development managers and development teams to coordinate testing efforts, prepare testing plans, and develop best practices that complement existing development methodologies and practices. The position will also be responsible for compiling and reporting overall software QA metrics for the organization.



Essential Job Duties:
* Establish and implement quality assurance standard procedures and practices across the QA team.
* Provide leadership and direction in the design, development, and implementation of test automation architecture and framework.
* Apply advanced technical expertise to ensure that QA testing is well defined, planned and successfully executed using appropriate techniques and toolsets consistently.
* Serve as the lead resource in key domains and systems on QA techniques, toolsets and testing; Facilitate and oversee the QA work including test plan development, complex testing and reporting on mid- to large-sized projects.
* Conduct audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for SDLC processes.
* Demonstrate expertise in QA techniques and toolsets; Serve as a resource to QA Analysts and others in testing efforts.
* Actively participate in release/project meetings with business users and development team members to coordinate the creation of needed end-to-end test plans.
* Facilitate all aspects of software testing efforts across development teams: regression testing, interface testing, performance testing, UAT, etc.
* Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members; solicit input and adjust testing strategy accordingly.
* Develop governance standards for QA organization and publish metrics for continuous improvement to IT leadership team.
* Continuously look for process improvements and new tools to increase efficiency and productivity of QA team.
* Assume other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Handles hiring/termination, performance reviews, and other personnel management responsibilities.
* Coach QA analysts on testing techniques and technologies.
* Mentor and help QA team members with their career growth.


Basic Qualifications


Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
* 7 to 9 years of QA experience, including at least five years of hands-on testing and five years as a manager.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Knowledge of QA concepts and methodology.
* Experienced but hands-on manager working in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environment.
* Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to hire, mentor and grow talented resources.
* Strong organizational skills, ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results.
* Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements.
* Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies.


Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with testing toolset - TFS Test Manager, HP Smartbear TestComplete, ReadyAPI, Microsoft Sql, Xamarin Cloud would be a plus.
