As a part of our continued growth, we are looking for a dedicated and passionate Trade Compliance Coordinator to join our team! The Trade Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the import and export activity within the businesses is accurately completed or processed within applicable government rules and regulations. The incumbent must understand and clearly communicate US trade compliance policy, regulations, and import/export laws to LKQ business stakeholders throughout the organization. Essential Job Duties:

* Acts as a point of contact, assisting with daily trade compliance activities (e.g., providing ad-hoc Harmonized Tariff Schedule [HTS] classifications, maintaining data online and filing requests electronically for internal control purposes).

* Tracks, audits and maintains records of import and export shipping documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

* Effectively utilize US Customs Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system, including running reports.

* Reviews import and export documentation for correct values, commodity classifications, tariff codes and authorizations.

* Assists with gathering information necessary for import and export product classification including Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN).

* Interfaces with freight forwarders, brokers and other trade compliance-related third-party service providers.

* Assists with internal or external audits and assessments Assists with broker and forwarder management.

* Assumes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience:

* High school diploma.

* 3+ years of relevant experience working for a direct importer/exporter.

* Certifications in US import and export practices plus direct working experience can be substituted for college degree (Licensed customs broker, Certified Customs Specialist or Certified Export Specialist designation).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

* Basic global trade compliance knowledge is required.

* Extensive experience using Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, and the ability to quickly learn and use internal system applications is critical.

* Knowledge and experience of import/export Trade Compliance procedures.

* Ability to coordinate activities within small team.

* Excellent internal and external customer service skills.

* Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.

* Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options.

* Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Two or four-year college degree
