JOB LOCATION: North American Headquarters, Nashville, TN


  • Responsible for administering the implementation and maintenance of the LKQ compensation programs, with some responsibility for the input of HRIS data as it relates to compensation set-up.  Performs the various components of the compensation program including written job description(s), periodic update and revisions, job analysis, market analysis, compensation policies and procedures as well as day to day administration of regular and incentive pay programs. 


  • Develops and coordinates written and verbal communication programs to publicize and explain benefit programs to increase employee knowledge, improve utilization, and generally maximize the value of the benefit for both employee and the Company. 
  • Develops and maintains compensation program administrative manuals, records the Human Resources benefit database, and other documents necessary for implementing compliance under ERISA laws, Plan Documents, and LKQ policy. 
  • Coordinates the participation of exempt and non-exempt salary surveys by submitting data, comparing results to existing salary structure and practices, making recommendations and fully implementing any approved changes. 
  • Performs analysis to evaluate skills, knowledge and abilities requirements for Company jobs. Prepares and maintains all job descriptions, job evaluation and wage and salary pay structures on computer systems. Assists in development of new compensation structures and the administration of LKQ incentive programs.  
  • Assist in the development of performance management documents and performs periodic audit of performance management process to ensure compliance with performance management guidelines. 
  • Ensures accuracy of compensation data through periodic audits and other verification practices. 
  • Performs compensation research as requested to determine feasibility of possible improvements to existing programs; accumulates and analyzes data, prepares recommendations, and reports to upper management. 
  • Keeps abreast of new and emerging compensation trends, creative solutions, and legislative changes. 
  • Develops and maintains departmental policies, procedures, and operational guidelines relating to employee compensation. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: General benefits & compensation knowledge, including compensation theory and an understanding of job evaluation methods and market analysis techniques. Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyze a variety of data, determine validity, draw conclusions and make recommendations. Strong mathematical and statistical skills. Efficient use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills including the ability to tactfully present difficult information, negotiate win/win agreements. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum of two to three years’ experience in compensation. 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. Requires ability to observe jobs being performed; requires walking, and standing for several hours at time. Ability to sit at desk for 2/3 - full day and perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. May require occasional travel.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ADVANCED Excel experience with VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, charts, graphs, etc.
