Job Overview:

The Director of Global Security Architecture will lead the technical direction of LKQ’s global security program and will report directly to LKQ’s Global CISO. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining technical security standards, solutions and processes that align technical controls with LKQ security policies, and address key security. This includes leading technical architecture discussions within infrastructure and application level security programs across LKQ globally to ensure process, practice and technology adoption occurs to continuously improve the security of sensitive systems across all of LKQ’s global business entities.

This individual must be focused on continuous and iterative improvement of security posture and must possess strong technical skills but equally important is ability to influence and lead geographically, technically and culturally disparate groups people across LKQ business units who may have very different technology environments.

Success in this role will be determined by strength of technical leadership across various domains, ability to persuade disparate groups of people across LKQ business entities, and ability to build and leverage close and collaborative working relationships with peers.

The Director of Global Security Architecture must leverage a strong security architecture knowledge to drive change, build a culture of security, and support the evolution of the organization.

As a leader within the organization, the Director of Global Security Architecture takes a central role in actively promoting a culture of information security throughout the IT organization as well as across the enterprise.

The scope of this position spans the organization’s security solutions including software applications, platform infrastructure (Linux, Windows, Virtualization and Cloud), data management, data integration and external vendor solutions.

Primary Duties:

* Provide overall technical leadership for LKQ’s global information security program including establishing technical strategy and technical standards.
* Collaborate with IT resources across LKQ to develop and drive a technical security roadmap that addresses key security priorities.
* Lead internal skills development activities for information security personnel on new technologies or process changes driven by security requirements, by providing mentoring and by conducting knowledge sharing sessions.
* Assist in the development and knowledge transfer to IT team members, as well as other enterprise groups.
* Serve as the Security Lead in the design, implementation and integration phases of cloud-based solutions to meet client and firm security requirements, address enterprise risks and exposures in cloud-based solutions.
* Define information security controls and patterns that support risk assessments and support the development of secure architectures; provide technical security expertise to LKQ teams' solutions including communicating security architectural decisions, benefits, and risks Collaborate with technology architecture and engineering teams by performing security analysis of proposed architectures and designs, providing risk assessment feedback, including security requirements; provide security consulting services internally to the organization by giving security guidance and functioning as an information security subject matter professional.
* Develop and produce high quality documentation for strategic security architecture vision, including blueprints, standards and frameworks that are aligned with overall business strategy.
* Drive adoption of enterprise standards (reference architectures) and best practices; promote changes in process, standards, or technologies when necessary.
* Evangelize LKQ security standards and introduce mechanisms to drive adherence to standards.
* Play a primary role in the selection of new information security technologies.
* Provide technical leadership for all information security platforms.
* Oversee and directly participate in the installation, configuration, and monitoring of new information security technologies.
* Participate in regular technical risk assessments/audits of systems and infrastructure. Provide management direction of staff as assigned.

Education & Experience: 

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; CISSP preferred
* 8+ years of directly applicable work experience in a technical security role within a highly complex organization
* Experience designing and implementing secure architecture and reference architectures; from business requirements gathering to technology rollout oversight, including capacity management, definition of scoring methodologies for technology selection, integration of multiple tools and reporting functionalities, technical documentation
* Technical expertise across multiple disciplines within IT infrastructure and information security such as identity and access management, Active Directory, Linux Security, Networking (Cisco), Intrusion Detection/Prevention and NGFW (Sourcefire, Palo Alto or CheckPoint), endpoint protection (various products), cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS), database security (Oracle and MS), virtualization platforms, digital forensics, incident response, web application firewalls (F5); experience with cyber security frameworks and regulatory requirements, such as NIST, PCI, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA compliance
* Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work; must be able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; and foster the development of high performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization; ability to participate in development of resource plans and structures and influence organizational priorities
* Able to approach security architecture collaboratively and from the perspective of risk management and to avoid purely academic thinking about security.
* Demonstrated ability to influence decision makers at all levels of a large organization.
* Strong leadership skills and ability to lead highly technical individuals across the organization.
