Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Accountable for the development of profitable new Fleet and Light Industrial Coatings business within assigned markets. 
  • Will work with assigned Area Sales Managers and field sales representatives to accomplish growth objectives. 
  • Will spend 100% of his/her available time on Fleet and Light Industrial sales growth, distribution capabilities, sales force training and account maintenance activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure that proper use of Health, Safety and Equipment practices are adhered to.
  • Identify high potential markets and prospect accounts for Fleet and Industrial Coatings growth.
  • Prospect, sell and close new customers at a level necessary to meet annual sales budgets and gross margin targets.
  • Work to develop the product skills and selling knowledge of our Field Sales Reps for this segment.
  • Manage the facility preparation and startup of new Fleet and Industrial Coatings distribution centers.  Prepare initial and ongoing business plans with each assigned distribution center.
  • Provide coating system recommendations for fleet and industrial coatings.
  • Make sales presentations to prospective and existing customers.
  • Provide post-sale support to all assigned accounts to promote customer retention.
  • Maintain accurate customer call and support activity records for all assigned accounts.
  • Take ownership of your professional development.
  • Be familiar with LKQ / Keystone product literature and can convey product information and availability to customers.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Graduate. Some college coursework desired.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ prior sales experience with ability to develop technical coating system recommendations for Fleet and Industrial Coatings applications.

Approximately 75% travel.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to work in cooperation with others. Must be attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments. Must be able to communicate effectively with others. Must have the flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends.

MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, AND SOFTWARE:

  • Company vehicle, personal computer, fax and telephone.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position requires individuals to have the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions and be attentive to detail.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as to an office environment.
  • Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels, and occasional inclement driving conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in some work environments is moderately loud.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or college coursework is desired with 3 to 5 years of sales experience.
