Job Description

We are in a business that requires a high level of customer service and our customer’s perception is created by their interaction with our Delivery Drivers who are the face of the company.  As a part of our continued growth we are looking for a Lead Delivery Driver for our Sumner, WA location. 
Job Summary: Assists with all operational activities within the distribution center.  Operates a company vehicle to deliver product to customer.  Manually loads and unloads delivery truck, verifies parts loaded and unloaded, collects payments from customers. Provides guidance to other Delivery Drives based in their supervisor/manager's instructions.
Essential Job Duties:


1. The Lead Delivery Driver assists the Supervisor/Manager with inbound truck loads and shipments and build outbound shipments of merchandise destined for sale in LKQ Corporation/Keystone branch locations.


2. Supports Manager to lead and supervise all delivery personnel and assign duties on a daily basis.


3. Establishes or adjusts work schedule and procedures to meet deadlines.


4. Trains others on job duties and Company policies.


5. Observes workers to ensure compliance of safety standards and regulations.


6. Drives a company vehicle in a safe, courteous manner avoiding traffic violations and accidents.


7. Physically loads company truck at the branch and verifies the condition of the truck, the manifest and other paperwork associated with the deliveries to be made.


8. Drives to the delivery destination ad physically unloads the truck, verifies parts unloaded and obtains signature of receiving location confirming accuracy of parts delivered.


9. Collects accounts receivable as necessary.


10. Complies with established company policies and procedures.


11. Assumes other duties as assigned.  

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Minimum Required Experience, Education, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities, Essential Physical Demands): 



Education & Experience: High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.  Additional computer training desired.  Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.  Must qualify for Corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.  Must meet Department of Transportation testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations when/as required.  Must be at least 21 years of age. 


 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Supervisory responsibilities require excellent communication and organization skills with knowledge of personal computer.  Ability to lead others.  Must be familiar with the company’s products and warehouse methods, techniques and procedures.   


 
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment: This position requires individuals to constantly be on their feet except when operating machinery or performing supervisory responsibilities.  They must be able to stand for long periods, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, climb and be able to move/lift up to 75 pounds regularly.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and heat.  The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.  Should be able to tolerate high and low temperatures and occasional in climate driving conditions. 



Preferred Qualifications:  High School graduate or GED equivalent desired
